Li’ Jo’ Lawrence Smith, Founder of FaSo Productions and Creator/ Director of “Limo Chats “is an accomplished, creative writer, poet and up and coming director/producer.

He made his directorial  debut with his revising of the Broadway Tony Award Winning Gospel Sensation “Purlie”.

He accomplished a successful three week run at The Malonga Casquelourd Center for The Arts Theater in downtown Oakland, Ca.

During his adolescent years he performed in well-known plays such as: The Wizard of Oz” and “West Side Story”. He continued his drama training at McAteer High School; (School of the Arts.)

In 1993. Li’ moved to Virginia where he worked as a String Puppeteer performing in a school education play entitled. After matriculating back to San Francisco in 1995, he became a member of Local 16 I.A.T.S.E (International Alliance for Stage and Theater employees). With Local 16 Li’ started as a carpenter and electrician working in the theatre on Broadway plays such as Aint’ Misbehavin, West Side Story, Fiddler on the Roof, and Phantom of the Opera.

He has 24 years’ experience working behind scenes on the technical side of entertainment. He then spent a few seasons working with the San Francisco Ballet, San Francisco Opera, and the San Francisco Symphony, allowing him to further his experience working as a PA assistant and Craft Services hand for the television show, Nash Bridges. Li’ also work as stagehand on movies including The Game, Metro, Matrix 2 and Matrix 3, Flubber, Bi-Centennial Man, What Dreams May Come, and Sphere.

Prior to the pandemic you could find Li at the San Francisco Moscone Center working as an audio-visual technician and a crew Steward for a multitude of big trade show conventions for such companies as Google, Mac-world, Cisco Systems Oracle Open World and Sales Force; working side-by-side with the event coordinators and promoters of these events.

This author of two original stage plays looks forward to bringing life and creativity to this new podcast, “Limo Chats.”

Joey Smith Director/Founder and in 1969, Joseph began his acting career as part of the New SHAKESPEARE COMPANY.

He would tour with the company for the next three years as the lead role of Oberon in “A Mid Summer’s Night’s Dream.” In 1976, he was hired by ABC7, KGO, TV.

This career would span over four decades as Stage Manager and director for “Good Morning Café”, and the Channel 7 local early morning news. In 2010, Joseph returned to acting casted as Joe Jackson in a Japanese TV documentary drama about Michael Jackson and family.

In 2014, he assisted, directed, and produced the revival of the Tony Award winning hit musical“Purlie”.

Since 2010 he has appeared in countless commercials such as Radio Shack, Blue Shield, Rural Health, Facebook, Johnson & Johnson, and most recently the movie E14 on Amazon Prime.

Joseph has been a part of the Theatrical Arts business for more than 50 years; acting, directing. Joseph was also a stage manager for tv, film, and stage productions.

Fa/So Productions mission is to follow in the footsteps of other Moguls in the entertainment industry comparable to the likes of television’s writers/producer greats, Shonda Rhimes and Tyler Perry. Both defied the norm and have made an imprint on television and the big screens in a way that makes you take note and listen. They have created staying power by producing sure fire content after content resulting in a strong global audience. Fa/So Productions strategy is to quickly become a phenomenon by creating a brand of something new and fresh in the categories of Television, film, stage, and Musical Entertainment arenas. By meeting these objectives, Fa/So Productions will reach the ultimate objective, which is to create stable jobs and consistent revenue amongst the African American community.
